The Wellness Program
The Community Wellness Center provides a professionally supervised health and fitness program designed to optimize healthy lifestyle practices in all members of the population. Sponsored by Community Memorial Hospital, the Community Wellness Center's purpose is to make readily available and accessible a wellness-oriented program that places emphasis on physical fitness as a means of maintaining good health for people of all ages and abilities.
The Philosophy of the Program
Our philosophy is symbolized by the three intertwined rings representing fitness, nutrition, and education, the cornerstones of a healthy lifestyle. The center recognizes that only by combining these three factors in a single program can ultimate health and wellness be achieved and maintained.
By providing interested individuals with guidance and motivational support within a dedicated and structured environment, the center believes it has the best chance of positively influencing the lives of its participants.
Major Components of the Program
- Education in exercise physiology, nutrition, cardiovascular disease, risk factor reduction, strength training, and any other items pertinent to health and wellness.
- Individualized guidance and assistance during exercise
- Close, continual monitoring of activities of all members to ensure the safest, most benefitial use of exercise time.
- Promotion of psychological wellbeing.
- Motivation to come, to try, to succeed.
- Support and encouragement during the entire improvement process.

Program Features
- The Wellness Center features personal exercise design and monitoring by a certified personal trainer. Director Jerrico Wright holds a bachelors degree from SUNY Cortland.
- Unlimited use for your convenience
- Excellent selection of professional equipment including elliptical-cross trainers, treadmills, Airdyne-stationary bicycles, recumbent bicycles, upper body ergometer, stair climber, and a variety of weight training equipment and free weights.
- Instruction in how to make the maximum use of all equipment.
- Individualized programs available for all who are interested (at NO extra cost)
