Community Memorial Recognized Among Nation’s Top Hospitals for Nurse Communication

Community Memorial (CMH) has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the nation’s top hospitals for nurse communication, based on patient experience data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The recognition highlights hospitals that earned a 5-star rating in nurse communication, a measure based on patient feedback regarding how effectively nurses listen, explain information, and treat patients with courtesy and respect during their hospital stay.

“This recognition reflects the dedication and compassion our nursing team brings to every patient interaction,” said Kate Willbarger, President and CEO at Community Memorial. “Excellent communication is essential to delivering safe, high-quality care. We are proud that our patients feel heard, informed, and supported by the nursing team throughout their stay at CMH.”

The CMS Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey evaluates patients’ experiences and perceptions of care. Nurse communication is one of the most important measures of patient satisfaction and quality, as nurses are often the primary point of contact throughout a patient’s hospital stay.

“This achievement belongs to every member of our nursing team,” Willbarger. “The commitment to building trust, providing education, and delivering compassionate care makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families.”
