Community Memorial Celebrates Completion of Construction With Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Community members, donors, employees, and local leaders gathered on March 22nd to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of Community Memorial’s (CMH) new facility, marking the successful completion of a transformative construction project and capital campaign.
The event commemorated the culmination of years of planning, fundraising, and collaboration to bring the new facility to life. Guests toured the new space, heard remarks from organizational leadership and project supporters, and celebrated the collective effort that made the project possible.
“This moment represents far more than the completion of a building,” said Ellen Percy Kraly, Hospital Board of Directors Chair. “It represents the dedication, generosity, and shared vision of our employees, donors, partners, and community members who believed in what this project could accomplish. This state-of-the-art, beautiful facility is an expression of our respect for the communities and families served by CMH. We extend our deep appreciation to all those who were a part of this success.”
The new facility was supported through the success of ‘CMH: Building Today. Tomorrow. Always.’, a capital campaign led by the Hospital’s Foundation volunteers, which united employees, donors, and community partners in support of expanding and improving services for the region. The campaign exceeded expectations thanks to the extraordinary support of contributors at every level.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony served as an opportunity to thank the many individuals and organizations who played a role in the project’s success, including campaign supporters, construction partners, volunteers, and employees who contributed both to the building effort and the fundraising campaign.
“This project was truly a community effort,” said Jeff Coakley, President and CEO. “From the generosity of donors to the dedication of all our staff and the expertise of our construction partners, this new facility stands as a symbol of what can be accomplished when people come together for a shared purpose.”
The new facility will enhance patient care, visitor experience, and staff efficiencies providing modern spaces designed to better serve patients, clients, and the community for years to come. Major components of the project include a new Medical-Surgical wing of all private patient rooms, a new Emergency Department with added separate waiting and registration space; a new Main Entrance, along with all new and expanded department spaces for Radiology, Rehabilitation and Laboratory.
The organization extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who helped bring this vision to reality. “This project strengthens our ability to care for our community today while preparing us for the healthcare needs of tomorrow,” added Coakley. “It’s a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together around a shared mission.”
