Important Notice for Visitors
Effective Wednesday, September 17, 2025 our security team will be implementing metal detectors and bag searches for all patients and visitors that enter the facility. This additional security will occur from 9 PM to 5 AM and be located at the Emergency Department Ambulatory entrance, which is the only public entrance to the building during this timeframe. The detector is similar to those used in airports and other public buildings to offer a proactive measure that improves the safety of our healthcare environment.
What to Expect:
- Patients and visitors will be asked to walk through a metal detector upon entering the building.
- Security staff will be on hand to assist and answer any questions.
- This screening process will be quick, respectful, and designed to minimize disruption to entry.
- Patients and visitors with medical devices (e.g., pacemakers) or other concerns will be accommodated appropriately.
- Bags will be searched and Security will be discouraging people from bringing bags into the Hospital. (Bags are best left in vehicle.)
If you have questions or concerns, please call Chad Chapman, Director of Security, at 315.824.6085.
