Madison County Launches the Health Atlas

Madison County Public Health, Oneida Health, and Community Memorial Hospital are proud to announce the launch of the Madison County Health Atlas, an easy-to-use online tool that helps community members find and understand local health data. With over 100 health data metrics available, users can explore and visualize information through maps, charts, graphs, and tables specific to Madison County.

The Health Atlas simplifies and centralizes access to credible data that was once scattered across multiple sources, making it easier for anyone to explore, gain meaningful insights, and track health trends over time. “By providing access to reliable information, we aim to empower community members to make informed decisions about their health,” said Eric Faisst, Director of Madison County Public Health.

Our local hospitals are already seeing its value. At Community Memorial Hospital, the Atlas is viewed as a powerful tool for enhancing patient care. “We believe Atlas is an essential resource in advancing patient care and population health. Access to clear, localized data enables us to identify community needs more precisely and design care strategies that promote long-term health and well-being,” said Dr. Heather Bernard, DNP, RN, CIC, FAPIC, Chief Nursing Officer at Community Memorial Hospital. For Oneida Health, the Atlas brings a broader perspective. “This tool strengthens our ability to track emerging health trends and respond with informed strategies,” said Felissa Koernig, JD, MBA, FACH, President and CEO at Oneida Health. “It helps guide planning, target outreach, and improve coordination between providers, which ultimately leads to more responsive and effective care.”

Access to this local data will promote partnerships and prioritization of funding sources. The Health Atlas platform by Metopio will be instrumental in completing the 2025 Community Health Assessment and Improvement Plan for the county. Full documents will be released by January 2026.
